Sathyabama Universityis a private university at Chennai in Tamil Nadu, India, founded in 1988 as Sathyabama Engineering College by Jeppiaar Educational Trust (formed in 1987) and inaugurated by then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Janaki Ramachandran. It was formerly known as Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (SIST). The university is headed by Dr. Jeppiaar, a former politician under the late M. G. Ramachandran. The institution is reputed for its student placements, discipline and good facilities. The varsity is a Christian minority institution.
The Ministry of Human Resources Development declared the college as a ‘deemed university’ on 16 July 2001 and as a ‘University’ on 13 September 2006, under section 3 of the UGC Act
Sathyabama University has been accredited with a grade of B++ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).[5] The university has also received ISO 9001:2008 certification.

Anna University was a university in the state of Tamil Nadu India, which offers higher education in Engineering, Technology and Applied Sciences. In 2007-2010 has divided into six universities, namely, Anna University, Chennai, Anna University of Technology, Chennai, Anna University of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore, Anna University Anna University Tirunelveli and Madurai Technology.
Anna University was formed on September 4, 1978, as unitary type of university. It is composed of four technicians institutions in the city of Chennai (formerly known as Madras), including the Faculty of Engineering, Guindy, established in 1794, and the Institute of Technology Madras established in 1949, which offered the first engineering degrees in India.
Ana Perarignar University of Technology (Guidelines) was original name used in 1978. In 1982 the current name Anna University was approved, the deletion of the words “Perarignar” and “Technology.” In December 2001, become a university affiliation, almost all engineering colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu, under its times and also absorb all six governments engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu, as its component schools. In total, about 250 met engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu.

The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University is a law school in Chennai, India. Named after Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, a prominent Indian legal specialist of the 20th century, the University offers a variety of specializations, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Dr. Surjit Singh Barnala, the Governor of Tamil Nadu, is the Chancellor and Prof. S. Sachidhanandam is the Vice-Chancellor. The institution was established by the 1996 state Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University Act, with the National Law School of India University as its model as the first Indian legal education institution. Apart from the teaching and academic research initiatives, the University has both state-sponsored and private law colleges as affiliates, differing from the other law schools in the country. Although applicants from all over the country are encouraged, most students are from Tamil Nadu.
The University is unique in terms of the identity given to the undergraduate and postgraduate education. The School of Excellence in Law was established to primarily focus on undergraduate education. At the postgraduate level, the University offers advanced degrees through its Departments of Law. The advanceddegree programs offered include Business Law, Constitutional Law & Human Rights, Intellectual Property Laws, International Law and Organizations, Environmental Law & Legal Order, and Criminal Law & Criminal Justice Administration.
