The administrative offices of the University of Mysore is housed in the Crawford Hall. This imposing structure was built in the year 1947 at a cost of Rs.12 lakh. Mr. Koenig Berger, Chief Architect, Government of Mysore Designed this building. The tall columns in the front the building a majestic appearance. The building was originally planned as the Representative Assembly for Mysore.
Lt. Col. W.L. Crawford and his brother C.S. Crawford of England who studied at Mysore gave a donation of Rs.~1 lakh to the University of Mysore for the construction of an Intermediate College for Women. Since, they had not imposed any conditions, the funds were used to build a hall to be used for Convocation and house the Administrative Offices. This donation was their way of saying thanks to the “kindly landâ€Â.
The building has a total floor area of nearly 10,000 Square metres. The structure is in the form of an I, with the central hall, christened Crawford Hall as desired by the donors, which is mainly used for Convocations and other important functions. The hall is spacious enough to seat nearly 1000 persons and has an octagonal shape. The balcony can also seat about 600 persons comfortably.

University of Mysore has Announced the UG Degree Revaluation Examination Results 2010.
The University of Mysore is among the foremost institutions of its kind, and is an enduring symbol in the sphere of higher education in India. It was founded by the then Maharaja of Mysore, His Highness Sri Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV and his Dewan, the renowned engineer – statesman, Sir M.Visvesvaraya, on July 27, 1916. The Maharaja of Mysore became its first Chancellor. A Bill to establish and incorporate the University was introduced in Mysore Legislative Council in 1916. It was passed unanimously on 17th July 1916. The first meeting of the University Council was held on 12th August 1916 and the first meeting of the Senate on 12th October 1916.

The University of Mysore is a public university in India. It was founded by the then Maharaja of Mysore, His Highness Sri Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV and his Dewan, the renowned engineer-statesman Sir M.Visvesvarayya, on July 27, 1916. The University came into existence on the basis of a report on educational progress in the United States and Australia, submitted by Messrs Thomas Denham and C.R.Reddy who visited these countries respectively. The University of Mysore became the first University outside the domain of the English administration in India, the sixth University in India as a whole, and the first ever University in Karnataka.
